To assist Project Manager and subsequently lead individual projects. Scope includes managing the execution of the project, from basic engineering design, detailed engineering design, procurement, pre-commissioning, commissioning, plant performance test to plant handover. The job holder will interface, coordinate and manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, procurement, contractors and vendors to deliver the projects in accordance with Company’s technical requirements, schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
- Schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, and personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
- Review deliverables by engineers and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Internally communicate and work closely with sales, engineering, procurement and other departments to ensure the overall company objectives/performance is achieved.
- Coordinate with the Procurement team on the timely preparation of inquiries for project equipment, ensuring the availability of necessary specification and data for procurement.
- Prepare weekly or monthly reports based on project requirement
- Prepare a regular progress report for issuance to the Project Manager and establish a daily routine with the Project Manager on all project management issues.
- Works in cooperation with the Project Commercial Engineer to monitor and follow-up on invoicing and collection of payments
- Support Project Management Department in any special assignment may have during the execution of project.
- Generate/facilitate documentation per engineering procedures.
- Ensures healthy customer relations and maintains the provision of efficient and reliable customer service/support for on-going projects so as to solicit and maintain their confidence in the reputation of the products and services offered by the Company.
- Participates in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of projects as and when required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Process/Chemical/Mechanical or other relevant Engineering discipline is required.
- Professional qualification in project management, i.e. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent is preferred.
- Preferable 2-3 years’ experience as Project Engineer in related field, preferably from the similar industry. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experiences are welcome to apply.
- Proficient in computer software. Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project) is a must.
- Knowledge in commercial matters such as forex exposure, financial reports and also familiar with various financial instruments such as Bank Guarantee (BG), Letter of Credit (LC) and etc.
- Familiar with any document management system will be added advantage.
- Familiar with logistics workflow such as MOC, INCOTERMS will be added advantage.
