The position serves as the lead FP&A partner for Malaysia and is accountable for overseeing financial performance, planning, forecasting, reporting, and related finance activities. The role also provides financial oversight and business partnering support for China and Indonesia and may be assigned responsibility for finance-related matters across other locations, including Singapore, Germany, India, and Brazil, as business needs arise. Job holder works in tandem with the Shared Service (HUB), CCC and Group Finance & Treasury to ensure that financial information produced is of good quality and integrity and actively supports the achievement of business and financial objectives

Responsibilities


1.  Planning & Management Accounting


a.  Planning & Analysis

i.           Implement financial planning and performs financial analysis, identify financial weaknesses and variances, and provide recommendations for Improvements in P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow performance.

ii.          Monitor the financial performance of the business and track achievement against Budget.

b.  Budgeting & Forecast

i.           Manage the Budgeting and Projection processes to ensure that RBU and Group Instructions and timeline are adhered to.

ii.          Prepare good quality and realistic Budget by critically examining inputs for accuracies and completeness; ensure conformance with established procedures and financial objectives, provide valuable recommendations and suggestions.

iii.         Consolidate information and participate, Budget meetings and discussions.

c.  Business Finance Matters

i.           Support the Company manager / Financial Controller, Global  In financial decisions for all Company’s business areas, including but not limited to profitability and margin analysis in sales transactions, customers’ payment model, mechanism and terms.

ii.          Work closely with Financial Controller, Global / CSU and Commercial Function in CCC (or in-house) on the financial elements of Contracts with customers and suppliers.

 

2.  Treasury

 

a.  Local

i.           Function as the custodian of cash for the Local Business.

ii.          Execute local treasury activities in accordance to treasury policies, guidelines, procedures and rules established by Group Treasury Function.

iii.         Manage, maintain, update and report treasury information and data in the Group Treasury System as required.

 

b.  Working Capital & Cash Management

i.           Support Financial Controller, Global in the monitoring and management of financial assets

ii.          Assist to improve Business working capital and liquidity management, track DO/SO and Stock Aging; optimize fund utilization, analyze collection trends and stock turnover

iii.         Work with Group Treasury to minimize transaction & interest costs and maximize interest income where relevant and applicable, repatriate cash as required

iv.        Track aging customer payments and undertake the necessary action.

 

c.  Project & Cash Flow Planning

i.           Manage Business Cashflow forecasting, improve forecast accuracy, participate in cash pooling

ii.          Ensure Company has sufficient cash to meet its obligations, administer external bank borrowings and /or Interco funding on an as need basis after alignment with Group Treasury

 

d.  Local Currency, FX & Hedging Management

i.           Proactive assessment and management of FX risks, support Company Manager Financial Controller, Global  to understand the effects of and implications on FX exposures in business decisions with customers and suppliers.

ii.          Monitor and track transactional foreign currency exposure of the business, understand its implication to the P&L and Balance Sheet with clear appreciation of treatment of FX in accordance to Group policies and accounting standards.

iii.         Provide solutions to reduce and mitigate FX losses in consultation with Group Treasury, including hedging foreign currency cash flow to minimize exposure.

iv.        Maintain the FX exposure and hedging register, monitor hedge maturity, rollover, settlement and effectiveness, and reconcile hedging records with SAP and the accounting records.

v.          Review FX gains and losses, including realized and unrealized FX, and investigate significant variances.

vi.        Coordinate the opening, amendment, extension, reduction and cancellation of bank guarantees, including performance bonds, advance payment guarantees, tender bonds and warranty guarantees.

 

 

 

3.  Reporting and Control

 

a.  Management Accounts Reporting, Group & BU Reporting

i.           Collaborate with HUB to review and approve month end and year end closing of accounts.

ii.          Prepare and submit Group and BU reports, including ad hoc financial analysis and customized reporting.

iii.         Own and review monthly balance-sheet reconciliations, including aged and unusual items.

iv.         Ensure timely clearing of intercompany balances, recoverables, advances, accruals and suspense accounts.

v.          Follow up and resolve long-outstanding balance-sheet items with the responsible business owners.

 

b.  Annual Statutory Accounts Reporting

i.           Collaborate with HUB to prepare and participate in annual stock/debtor’s review.

ii.          Prepare audit schedules together with HUB.

iii.         Draft, where applicable, review and finalize audited accounts.

iv.        Prepare and review the consolidation of financial statements for the entire group, including intercompany eliminations, minority interest adjustments, and foreign exchange translation.

v.          Collaborate with HUB to prepare BPC legal pack for annual Group statutory reporting.

 

c.  Internal Controls

i.           Ensure that the business is in compliant with the Group’s internal control procedures and DOA policies.

ii.          Review processes in the business and recommend Improvements to enhance controls where necessary.

iii.         Work closely with Financial Controller, Global , HUB and /or CCC to address and to resolve IA findings in an appropriate and timely manner.

 

4.  Tax & Compliance


a.  Corporate Income Tax

i.           Coordinate and support the preparation of annual corporate income tax computation and tax return submission in accordance with statutory requirements and Group timelines.

ii.          Review the tax computation and supporting schedules prepared and ensure that the information is accurate and reconciled to the financial accounts.

iii.         Liaise with Regional Tax Team / Tax Manager and external tax advisor on tax computation, tax filing and related tax matters.

iv.        Coordinate and respond to tax queries and provide the required supporting information and documents.

 

b.  Tax Accounting & Deferred Tax

i.           Prepare the deferred tax template and supporting schedules for review by the Regional Tax Team / Tax Manager.

ii.          Prepare and/or review the current tax and deferred tax computation for year-end reporting.

iii.         Ensure current tax and deferred tax balances are properly reconciled to the Balance Sheet and P&L.

iv.        Monitor material tax provisions, exposures and outstanding tax matters during month-end/year-end closing and statutory audit.

 

c.   Tax Filing & Statutory Compliance

i.           Coordinate the preparation and submission of relevant forms and annual tax filing requirements within the statutory deadlines.

ii.          Collate financial information and supporting documents required for tax filing and tax authority queries.

iii.         Maintain proper tax schedules, supporting documents and records to support tax filings and statutory/audit requirements.

iv.        Monitor outstanding tax matters and follow up with the relevant internal teams, Regional Tax Team and external tax advisor to ensure timely closure.

d.  Transfer Pricing & Related Party Transactions

i.           Support the preparation of transfer pricing information, related-party transaction schedules and reconciliations required by the Regional Tax Team / external tax advisor.

ii.          Ensure related-party transaction information is complete and reconciled to the accounting records and financial statements.

iii.         Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to provide supporting information required for transfer pricing documentation and tax compliance.


5.   Undertake any other tasks as and when assigned.

 


Qualifications

Qualification

 

1.   Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2.   Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent is an added advantage.

Experience

 

1.   Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Management Accounting, or Controlling, including managerial responsibilities.

2.   Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, statutory reporting, and corporate tax compliance.

3.   Exposure to treasury, cash flow management, and working capital optimization would be an added advantage.

4.   Experience in project accounting and/or within the engineering, EPC, or project-based industry is highly desirable.

5.   Proven ability to manage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a matrix and multi-country environment.

6.   Experience with SAP and financial planning and reporting systems is preferred.
