The jobholder is responsible for developing, managing, and growing the Chemicals & Fertilizer business — including Turf and Seed — in alignment with the company’s strategy and plans for Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Batam, and Bintan.
This role also involves identifying and developing new markets and customers to drive the growth of the HISAL segment (Hospitality, Industrial, Sportsfield, Agriculture, and Landscape) under T&I Malaysia.
Responsibilities
Sales, Business Development & Profitability
- Achieve sales targets and profitability objectives in alignment with company strategies.
- Develop and implement competitive sales strategies based on market intelligence, customer insights, and product positioning.
- Grow existing accounts and diversify the product mix to maximize returns.
- Identify and secure new market segments and customers to expand market share year-on-year.
- Prepare sales plans, proposals, and costings; support the team in securing key orders.
- Conduct professional product presentations and demonstrations to customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and principals through regular engagement and feedback.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing strategies to enhance market positioning.
- Ensure timely collection of payments within credit terms.
- Provide regular training, coaching, and motivation to team members to achieve sales goals.
Inventory Planning & Management
- Collaborate with local and regional teams to plan and manage annual inventory levels.
- Ensure accurate inventory control, minimizing stock obsolescence and optimizing fill rates.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels to support business continuity.
Sales Systems & Reporting
- Update accurate data and sales opportunities in SAP and CRM (C4C) systems.
- Prepare and present monthly sales reports and performance updates to management.
- Utilize business intelligence tools (SAP/BIW) to track sales performance and drive productivity.
- Monitor accounts receivables and ensure timely invoicing and debt collection.
Collaboration & Market Engagement
- Work closely with regional teams and principals on product specifications and technical matters.
- Plan and oversee marketing initiatives to broaden market coverage.
- Review pricing strategies, tenders, and quotations to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Maintain market awareness, track emerging trends, and identify new opportunities.
- Address customer issues promptly and provide solutions to strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Participate in EHS Committee meetings and ensure follow-up actions are implemented.
- Continuously seek improvements in sales processes, organization, and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, marketing or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, marketing or related field.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Strong business acumen.
- Familiarity with SAP, CRM (C4C) is an advantage
