Jointly with the other managers, job holder is responsible to execute the strategic direction and operational control of JJTI-MHE under the direction of the JJTI-MHE management team. As Assistant Manager – Project Department, job holder is responsible for the execution of assigned contracts; leading, monitoring, controlling and coordinating the various project management tasks of material handling products and ensuring proper and effective customer relation and correspondences. Job holder is to ensure contractual commercial matters are dealt with; engineering design are completed on time; and procurement and delivery are in accordance to the contractual time schedule. Further it is the job holder’s responsibility to participate and effectively assist in ensuring that the planned procurement cost and manpower consumption are adhered to. Job holder leads the appointed contract execution teams for the assigned contracts and is responsible to feedback and update the management on a regular basis. Job holder is required in supervising and guiding other appointed project leaders (project in charged persons) during project execution as well as assisting to guide and train any new appointed project leaders in the project execution department or appointed project leaders from other departments.
Responsibilities
- Generates the Company’s capacity planning in context with all contracts under execution as well as expected new order intake, development hours, administrative hours and other manpower related planning.
- Participates in working out the “Execution Master plan” for all projects, listing the important/special highlights from the respective contracts and its milestones.
- To lead, guide and monitor the performance of the respective contract execution team members during project execution.
- Provides commercial support to project leaders including for compliance of contract commercial terms e.g. project cost control and monitoring, variation orders, billing plan and execution, etc.
- Works in coordination with the respective project team members in the preparation of contract execution time schedule and ensures that the respective projects are implemented according to contractual schedule.
- Coordinates with the Procurement team on the timely preparation of inquiries for project equipment, ensuring the availability of necessary specification and data for procurement.
- Provides support to the Procurement teams in the evaluation of new suppliers.
- Assists in coordinating and scheduling quality control checks on equipment under fabrication; and jointly with the QC personnel and project teams, coordinates and ensures all quality control tasks are fulfilled.
- Ensures healthy customer relations and maintains the provision of efficient and reliable customer service/support for on-going projects so as to solicit and maintain their confidence in the reputation of the products and services offered by the Company.
- Ensures process review is performed, ensures risk assessment is done and participates in the design and engineering of projects as and when required.
- Participates in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of projects as and when required.
- Works in cooperation with Sales to monitor and executing the contracts in order to upgrade the Company’s execution and problem-solving skills.
- Responsible to comply with the Group’s 3 ISO Standard Integrated Management System, consist of policies, procedures, management programs and work instructions (ISO9001-2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018).

Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Civil or other relevant Engineering discipline is required.
- Professional qualification in project management, i.e. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent is preferred
- 5 years' experience in project management
- Good Command in English both written and spoken
